Non-WTS Students SEPTLA and ATLA Borrowing

We welcome currently-registered seminary students from other participating SEPTLA or ATLA institutions to use the resources in our library at no charge. Please make yourself known to the library staff to acquire a borrowing card and receive a brief introduction to the library's layout and resources.

SEPTLA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Theological Library Association)

If you are a student at one of these institutions, you must register as a SEPTLA borrower by following the procedure below.

To apply for a card at Montgomery Library,  visit the library between 9 am - 4 pm any weekday.  Bring the following documents with you:

  • SEPTLA form, signed and dated by your home institution's librarian
  • Valid photo ID

Once you have your library card, you may use the library during any of its open hours. Your library account will be valid for the current semester (up to six months), and may be renewed upon presentation of an updated SEPTLA form.

ATLA (American Theological Library Association)

To apply for a card at Montgomery Library, visit the library between 9 am - 4 pm any weekday.  The librarian will ask you to fill out a Direct Borrowing Certification document once you are at the library.  The document requires your signature, acknowledging your agreement to abide by Montgomery Library's policies regarding returns, fines, database usage, etc.  Bring the following documents with you:

  • A course registration form from your home institution in either paper or electronic form.  The date must be current, and the form must clearly originate from your institution.
  • Valid photo ID, showing your local address

Once you have your library card, you may use the library during any of its open hours. Your library account will be valid for the current semester (up to six months), and may be renewed upon presentation of valid registration documentation for ensuing semesters.
