Inauguration of Stephen Tong Chair

On Monday, September 12, 2011, The inaugural ceremony was held for The Stephen Tong Chair of Reformed Theology.

Westminster is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Jeffrey K. Jue is the first occupant of the Stephen Tong Chair of Reformed Theology.  At the ceremony, Dr. Jue gave the inaugural lecture entitled "The Future of Reformed Theology in the Age of the Global Church."  Afterwards, Dr. Stephen Tong gave the charge.  In his address to the Westminster community, Dr. Tong issued a rallying cry from his heart to challenge all to keep our theology as alive as the risen Savior we serve.

  • Scripture Reading: Dr. Lane Tipton; associate professor of systematic theology.
  • Scripture Reading: Dr. David B. Garner; associate professor of systematic theology.
  • Introduction of Dr. Jue: Dr. Julius Kim; associate professor of practical theology, Westminster Seminary California.
  • Inaugural Address: Dr. Jeffrey K. Jue; associate professor of church history.
  • Introduction of Stephen Tong: Dr. Peter Lillback, President of the seminary and professor of historical theology
  • Charge: Dr. Stephen Tong, president of Stephen Tong Evangelistic Ministries International
  • Closing prayer: Dr. William Edgar; professor of apologetics
