Alumni Chapel

November 01, 2011

Rev. Rensselaer Broekhuizen, BDiv '61

Join us on Wednesday, November 2nd, 10:30am in Rust Auditorium as we welcome back 50-year alumnus Rev. Rensselaer Broekhuizen to this semester's alumni chapel.  Each semester, Westminster welcomes back an alumnus to preach the Word.  During these special alumni chapels our students are exposed to alumni who have been defined and distinguished by their pastoral work.

During his visit, Rev Broekhuizen will guest lecture in the Expository Skills and Evaluation course. As part of this course, student’s skill in choosing, understanding and structuring a biblical text for preaching is developed and enhanced. Additionally, all students are invited to join Rev Broekhuizen for lunch where he’ll share more about his years in ministry.

The Reverend Broekhuizen served congregations of the Christian Reformed Church in Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan. He was also a world missionary in Liberia, West Africa. In 1993, he was part of a group that founded Ridge Point Community Church in Holland, Michigan. The church was designed intentionally to reach people who have no interest in the church. He retired from the active congregational ministry in 2003.

Please join us for this special Alumni Chapel and following time of fellowship.
