The Worshipping Community of the Two Witnesses: Revelation 11

Rev. Dr. Greg Beale will be speaking at the Scripture and Ministry Lecture at the Carl F. Henry Center for Theological Understanding on "The Worshiping Community of the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11:1-13)" at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School on January 22nd. The lecture will begin at 1pm, and will be live-streamed here.

The Worshiping Community of the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11:1-13)

Any truly worshiping community is a witnessing community, and as a witnessing community, it will also be a suffering community. While the book of Revelation infrequently appears in the canons of ministerial how-tos (often considered at best obscure and at worst divisive and thus ignored), in this lecture G. K. Beale will illuminate the theological and ministerial significance of the “two witnesses” of Revelation 11. Figuratively representing the true community of faith, the two witnesses, and the apocalyptic vision in which they are situated, offer the church direction and confidence for proclaiming the gospel in the “outer court” of a hostile world, promising not the absence of harm and suffering (indeed, quite the opposite) but divine presence, perseverance and final vindication.
