Major Montgomery Library Upgrade

September 14, 2008

We had a very busy summer here in the Library and we are excited to be able to show off our new toy!

This compact shelving unit is a major upgrade for our Library. It has allowed us to provide better housing for our periodical collection as well as enabling us to spread out the remainder of the collection in a way that makes better use of the space that we have.

There are a number of people that I would like to thank for making this day possible.

I would like to begin by thanking the Seminary’s Administration for their continuing investment in the Library.  We are very thankful that you are committed to providing excellent Library Service the latest example of this, being your willingness to invest in this Compact Shelving System

Second, I would like to thank all of the Library Staff and volunteers who worked incredibly hard this summer to get ready for the compact shelving installation, who moved thousands of books and went the extra mile to get us ready for the start of the new semester. Many of us discovered we have muscles we didn’t know we had.

Finally, I would like to thank the Campus Facilities Team.  Bob Sexton - Director of Physical Plant, Phil Walden - Physical Plant Technician, and Nate Morris - Building Services Manager, who were an enormous amount of help to us for the duration of the project.

- Sandy Finlayson, Director of Library Services, M.L.S., M.T.S.
