Asian Americans Building Healthy Churches

On Tuesday April 13, Rev. Dr. Jeffrey K. Jue, associate professor of Church History, spoke at the Together for the Gospel (T4G) preconference on “Asian Americans Building Healthy Churches.”  His experience in multi-ethnic churches opened his eyes to the need for diversity within the Church as a whole.  In his lecture, he discussed the current atmosphere of Asian American theology, as well as the need for clearer thinking about multi-ethnic and multi-cultural churches.  As a church historian, Dr. Jue recognizes that change in the church happens over a period of time by the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than through a sudden and immediate shift.  Click here to listen.

The theme from the T4G conference was “The Unadjusted Gospel,” and each speaker focused on a different aspect of upholding the gospel.  Some of the highlights included Thabiti Anyabwile’s message, “‘Fine-Sounding Arguments’ — How Wrongly ‘Engaging the Culture’ Adjusts the Gospel” and John Piper’s message “Did Jesus Preach the Gospel?”
